Here we are less than 24 hours away from Mother’s Day and you still have no gift! Every Friday after school or work lets out you’ve been telling yourself that “…tomorrow, I’ll get her a gift.”, “…eh, I still have tomorrow”, “…it’s not until next week anyways.”
Well now look at you. Gift less, out of time, or maybe out of money. Its okay, we aren’t judging you. We actually have some quick and easy DIYs on deck for you! Consider us your safe haven for all things creative!
Three step mommy mug!
Go to the nearest dollar store or favorite craft store and grab any color (oven safe) mug that catches your eye. With a Sharpe write a personal, unique, and sentimental message for the woman in your life. After you create your masterpiece, preheat your oven to 350 degrees and place the mug into the oven for 15 minutes.
*Ding Ding Ding*
After your fifteen minutes, you’re done!
The only challenge you have is how creative can you be or what inside joke should you use.
Let’s build a spa!
You never know what the simple ingredients in your own house can create. This DIY is amazing because you don’t even have to leave your house to give the special woman in your life the paradise relaxation she deserves.
For this lemon sugar scrub DIY, all you will need is:
- 2 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup of coconut oil
- 1 lemon or lemon natural oils
In a bowl, pore the sugar in first. Place the coconut oil . After the oil is fully melted, pour the coconut oil over the sugar. With either a zester or a kitchen safe knife, zest the skin of the lemon. Cut the lemon in half and juice the remains. Don’t forget to remove any seeds! You can know add the juice and the lemon zest to the mixture and stir stir stir.
*Insider tip* If you find that your scrub is too thin, you can add 1/2 cup of sugar until the mixture gets to your desired consistency.
Crafty citizens unite!
Our last DIY is easy and adds major decor to your environment. For all of those you have earthy or rustic style type of woman in their life, this is the DIY for you.
All you’re going to need is:
- Chalk spray paint or chalk paint.
- Wood piece (Can locate at any Michael’s or local craft store)
- Tape (Optional)
This step is optional, first tap off any areas that you want to remain the original wood texture. This is good for contrast and to show off the rustic wood element.
Second, in a well ventilated space, spray the wood piece with the chalk spray paint or with the paint. Leave the wood until dry.
Third, now write on your new chalk board or leave it as is.
